Marlon Brando was one of the most famous American actors of the 20th century.. His roles in "Apocalypse Now" and "The Godfather" remain stand out performances. In 1966, he acquired the South Sea atoll of Tetiaroa to make a nature sanctuary, dedicated to scientific research.
