María Emma Frade Cuestas (1947-2011) worked on 14 feature films and 53 short films, including the Yuruparí series, as well as a large number of commercials. In 2001, the Colombian Ministry of Culture awarded her the National Film Award for a lifetime dedicated to cinema.
