Davíd-Marcelo Martinez Arévalo, known by film peers and credited simply as Davíd Arévalo, is a Puerto Rico born filmmaker, he was raised in the town of Ponce. For college, he attended the Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) located in the United States. This is where he majored in Media Studies with a specialization in Film & Television. He began using film as a medium to express views and ideas personal to him. Arévalo is inspired to tell stories that are both visually appealing and structurally interesting in relation to his upbringing, culture and identity. These also happen to be some of his research topics, and the former being featured in many of his films ideologies and philosophies. He has a background in Film History and experience working on high and low budget productions. He is currently curating a book of testimonials, which he hopes to turn into a film. He is currently based in Paris, France. At the moment, he hopes to become a Professor of Film, with a specialization in International Cinema.
