Vandy Rattana is a self-taught photographer and video artist whose poignant works portray episodes of historical violence and trauma against the backdrop of rural Cambodia. He became interested in filmmaking in 2014 and has been working on a film trilogy since; the third and final film is commissioned by the Singapore Biennale 2019. Vandy’s works reside in numerous private and public collections including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Queensland Art Gallery, Singapore Art Museum and the Mori Art Museum. He lives and works in Cambodia, Japan and France.
