Aleyna Saral (born in 1997) is a debutant Turkish director who grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied Cinema and TV at Galatasaray University, and follows a double major with the Department of Sociology at the same university. She has been writing about Scandinavian music, cinema and culture on Nordik Simit for almost six years. From an early age, she has been interested in Scandinavian culture and countries, which led her finally to make her first short experimental film about Iceland, called “Once upon a time in Iceland”.
