Biography

Wayne Pretlow has worked with some of Broadway's most respected directors the likes of Jerry Zaks and the late Hal Prince, with a host of Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional, and international theater credits which include the 1999 Tony-nominated The Civil War, which he was an original cast member and the 2017 World premiere of Roman Holiday which premiered in San Francisco. In New York, he has performed in many City Centers Encores! concerts and received critics mention by Broadway World, Newsday, and The New York Times for his performance in Encores! Off-center production of Don't Bother Me I Can't Cope directed and choreographed by Savion Glover. Wayne was awarded Boston's *I.R.N.E in 2013 and nominated for a *Helen Hayes Award in 2000 for Best-Supporting Actor in a Musical for his role of Nicely Nicely in productions of Guys & Dolls. In 2019, he completed shooting Love Life for HBO and Monster Land for Hulu. Other Television appearances include guest and co-starring roles in shows The Good Wife, Person of Interest, and Madam Secretary on CBS, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Luke Cage, and House of Cards on Netflix, and in films: Like Sunday Like Rain, written and directed by Frank Whaley, Cannes Festival winner Next Stop Wonderland directed by Brain Anderson, The Accident, and Yardbird Houston in the short film In Retrospect, written directed by Logan Coles to name but a few. Wayne appeared several times on the Rosie O'Donnell Show with the cast of the Civil War and also on The David Letterman Show, The Chris Rock Show, and The Dave Chappelle Show and has done over 100 regional and national commercials; Saturn, Wendy's, Canon Copiers, Staples and AOL and in the 1990's he was the voice of the Sprinkle Spangle Genie, a short-lived General Mills Cereal... Mr. Pretlow is represented by Nicolosi & Co based in New York.
