Biography

Charlène Favier, born in 1985, is a French screenwriter, producer and director. Charlène Favier grew up between Bourg-en-Bresse and Val d'Isère. Having graduated in theater from the Jacques Lecoq School in London, she began her career by writing and directing short films. In 2018, she directed the short film Odol Gorri with actress Noée Abita. The film won awards at various festivals. The project is also in selection for the 2019 Unifrance Cannes Prize and the 2020 Short Film César. In 2020, Charlène Favier presented her first feature film Slalom, selected in the official competition at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival. The director draws on real-life experience in order to subtly address moral harassment and sexual assault in sports. The newspaper Le Monde speaks of Charlène Favier as one of the “Promises of 2021”.
